Quick lessons to teach students the various concepts associated with weather.

Many teachers struggle with incorporating all of the curriculum in one school year. One way to aid in this situation is to make more 5 minute lesson plans.

Often weather is a part of the curriculum for the primary, junior and intermediate levels. Instead of blocking a 6-8 week period to teach the different concepts, take 5 minutes a morning to teach the concepts. As the students are experiencing the weather, teach them about it. Students are more likely to learn if they are a part of the learning. With teaching students 5 minutes a day, your curriculum will be shortened to a 2-3 week block with many if not all students having a good understanding of weather and their different cycles.

Example: Teach students about wind on windy days. Have students feel the wind of a gale or a gentle breeze. Teach students about cloud formation on a rainy day when clouds are visible. Many students of all ages learn better if they are able to use all of their senses but often learning is visual and auditory.
