Creating a science or social studies lesson with a twist. Add music to your lesson plans and less students will fidgeting in their seats.

As a substitute teacher I see an assortment of lesson plans and have talked to hundreds of students. One school, the rules were very structured in the classroom and it gave the students little opportunity to be active in their learning. Rather the grade 7 class was great at regurgiating the information without missing a beat but did they really understand the information.

School is an environment to learn. I do not want students to excel at the beginning of the unit rather I want them to make mistakes to learn from them. If I just spoon feed the students, what problem solving skills are they learning. Incorporate music to any lesson and watch your students get excited about learning and become more involved in the process.

Teach science and social studies with a twist by infusing a music lesson into the curriculum.
