Seven easy steps for students to make a name tag. As a substitute teacher, name tags are a great tool in the classroom because students are referred to by their name.
As a substitute teacher, if there are no name tags on the students desk, the first task of the day is creating name tags. I do not laminate them but I have the students adhere them to the desk. I find I have more control of the classroom when I can tell Johnny to sit in his desk instead of asking the boy in the blue t-shirt to have a sit. Name tags make the students responsible for their actions, there is no anonymity.
