Quick lessons that teach the basics of grammar to students in junior and high school.

Grammar seems to be a forgotten art. Often we neglect to teach students the basics of grammar but rather we model how a sentence should sound and look. Without giving the rules of a well developed sentence, we are not giving students the foundation to create great sentences.

Students are taught about verbs and subjects in small mini lessons but seldom are they able to identify these terms in their own sentences. Students remember the basics for the assignment but once they are creating sentences they depend on the sound and neglect the grammatical components.

From kindergarten to high school students need to learn the basic pattern of a sentence. A basic sentence in grade two will be simple while a grade six sentence structure will be more complex. How to write a sentence is simple, once all the individual parts are truly identified.

Quick mini lessons to teach students the basics about creating unique and wonderful sentences. As well, vocabulary building tips to give students a more rich and diverse language for their writing. Practice, practice, and more practice is the key for students creating intriguing sentences that make people listen. Too often sentences are boring and similar, change a word or two and the sentence transforms.
