As a teacher it is important to create a safe and nurturing learning environment for all students. The first day of school is critical to foster a community in your class.

Incorporate a variety of lessons that encourage students to be active participants in the process of learning. The first day of school should be geared at getting to know your students and for the students to become acquainted with you.
