Crayon makers provide a invaluable resource to assist teachers with their lesson and unit plans.


Summer is a time for teachers to rest and relax but it is also a great opportunity to pursue the Internet for some interesting sites. During the school year, teachers are busy with day to day classroom activities giving them limited time to pursue the Internet.

Luckily, many Internet sites are free to teachers and there is an assortment of lesson and unit plans available for teachers to use or modify to tailor to their students. Sometimes the Internet is overwhelming as there are countless articles on one topic.

Crayola, the company that invented the first children's crayon in 1903 is an exemplary resource. The site has numerous lesson plans in regards to all subjects not just art. Creator of the site has ensured top notch lessons that incorporate arts into science, math, language, and social studies. However, they have not neglected visual arts, there are a variety of lessons to teach students about art and how to create masterpieces.

As teachers relax this summer, take an hour or two a week to purse Crayola or other sites to assist with your unit plans and lesson plans. A few hours a week will build your teaching resource bag in little time without the stress.
