How to organize a classroom library takes time and creativity. The more creative you are, there is a higher probability that your students will use it

As I enter my local library I am a little excited about sifting through the books but when I enter our local Chapter store I am very excited about reading. There is something about their ambiance that makes reading a more enjoyable experience. In Chapters, I am able to laugh and speak softly to a friend about a great author. Even today, when I enter the local library I stop talking and begin perusing the different sections, I still remember the old rules of no talking, find a book and read.

It is the same with my school aged boys, when they walk into Chapters they are excited about reading and the incredible selection. Chapters has a way of enticing readers, to get you excited by their display of books and their comfy chairs and big open space. Often our school and local libraries are jammed with books and it can be overwhelming as to where to start looking for a book. I often find libraries not as helpful as the Chapters salespeople who are more than willing to assist.

Organize a classroom library that will entice your readers, do not have a classroom library just to have one. The classroom library should be inviting and create excitement in your students.
