Strategy to keep the classroom organized with the assistance of students.

First week of school is a busy time getting to know the students and implementing school and classroom routines. Teachers are busy with lesson preparation, parents, students, meetings and much more, the last thing they need to add to their work day is the organization of the classroom.

Students are more than willing to help but add a few incentives and most if not all students will want to assist with keeping the classroom organized. The first step is for students to interview for classroom jobs. An interview policy gives all students an opportunity to state their case of why they are best suited for specific jobs.

As well, pay students for their hard work. The classroom money they earn can be used to buy predetermined privileges. Privileges can be from free time to a homework pass. It is best to invite the students to help on creating the different privileges available.
