Energizers to encourage all students to participate in an activity.

Energizers main purpose is inclusion. They are geared to get to know something better if it is the students or a concept. Energizers are fun, educational and a great way to start a class or for transition between classes.

Jeannie Gibbs, founder of Tribes believes it is important to create a learning environment that is safe for all students. If a student does not feel safe they will be less willing to participate and engage in cooperative activities. Energizers uses the teacher as the guide and students as the teachers.

Rain, brainstorming ball tossing, last word, and knots are just a few energizers that require all students to participate and cooperate in the activity if success is to be achieved. Implement a new energizer each week to motivate students and yourself.
