New book reviews for Joyce Raimondo's, Art Explorer Series. Are the books worth investing in for the teacher's resource library?

Joyce Raimondo has written the excellent Art Explorer Series to aid teachers in providing rich art lessons for students of all ages. Her four books in the Art Explorer Series introduces the teacher to the birth of the art form such as Pop Art or Surrealism. As well, she gives in-depth and detailed art lesson plans for teachers to integrate into their art unit plans.

I am impressed with her numerous thought provoking open ended questions for students to begin a dialogue for a variety of art forms. Her writing is simplistic but is rich with material to get the teacher and students excited about art class. She sways from traditional art where all students works are a copy of the original. Instead her lessons give the students a general knowledge of an art form and then they are to produce one of a kind art work within certain parameters.

Joyce Raimondo's Art Explorer Series books are a great addition to the teachers resource library. With her detailed lessons, the teacher can bring new and fresh art lessons to the class for students of all ages.
