PURPOSE OF SITE

Ableplay.org is an excellent toy resource center for families and professionals who care for children with disabilities. Their main focus is to objectively rate toys based on their physical, sensory, communicative, and cognitive functions.

A big positive of the site is it is not geared at promoting only a certain brand or product rather it truly is a resource to families and professionals to provide their students or child with the best product tailored to the each child’s' special needs.

COMPUTER FRIENDLY

Creators of the site has made it computer friendly and it is quick and simple to maneuver from one section to the next. There is always is a place to return to home if you lose your bearings. As well, the searching capabilities are exceptional as you can search via the disability, type of product, brand name, or product name, and/or price point.

EVALUATORS

Ableplay has a strict policy for hiring the Evaluators for the products. Evaluators must have a degree in special education, early childhood education or related therapeutic disciplines. In addition, the site contracts to independent toy evaluators who are not affiliated with products sold on the website.

WHY VISIT THE SITE

The most impressive thing about the site is they have done all the leg work on investigating and researching toy products. A parent or professional can make an informed choice on the best product for their child based on the extensive evaluation process. As well, it is a free resource center, that has the child’s best interest in mind.
