Surprise your students with a one of a kind gift. Create a mosaic picture with the faces of you and your students. This gift is a beautiful reminder of their class experience.
1st Step: Download free mosaic software from the Internet. The keyword is ‘free mosaic software’. Numerous results will show, choose the one you are most comfortable with downloading. A suggestion for downloading is to save the file to a folder in your computer before you run the program. After you save the program, do full systems scan check for viruses. Once the scan is complete and no viruses are indicated you can run the program. If a virus is detected, delete the program and choose another program.
2nd Step: Take pictures of your students in a variety of situations. You may also take photos of their work or group pictures. Once you have a variety of pictures download them into a separate folder to be used for your mosaic.
3rd Step: Decide on the mosaic photo that best resembles your class. It can be a picture of yourself, or the school mascot, city flag or have the students decide on an object that best describes the class without telling them your purpose. I have seen mosaics made of people, Canadian flag, Jesus, and Mother Mary. All have been beautiful and you become lost in the mosaic photograph and all the small photographs that compose it.
4th Step: Follow the directions of your mosaic software to download the pictures and create your mosaic.
5th Step: Send the mosaic picture to a photo center and purchase enough prints for your class and one for yourself.
