Easter art activity incorporates arts with social studies and math. Also, the finished Easter Egg is excellent for a bulletin board.
Easter Egg ArtEaster also known as Resurrection Day is observed between late March and late April. It is a day that remembers when Jesus rose from the dead, three days after being crucified. It is also the day of Easter eggs and Easter bunnies. Many schools observe the non-religious aspects of Easter by incorporating egg art into their art curriculum. Easter Art Supply
Egg Decorating Art Instructions Each student receives a black piece of construction paper. In pencil the student is to draw the shape of an egg on the black paper. Modification: Pre-draw the egg shape on the paper. Students outline designs on the egg. They may be abstract with squiggly lines or create a scenic picture. Students in the earlier grades should be encouraged to make the design simple with limited lines. Students will go over all the lines with white glue. Students are best to pour glue in a small container and use a toothpick to cover the lines with. After students have placed the glue on the egg, they must wait 24 hours before finishing the egg art craft. Students will use pastels to decorate the egg. The students will color between the glue lines. Students are encouraged to be creative with colors and not quickly color the egg, one color. Tip: Students place a tissue over the egg art as they color to limit smearing of the colors. Students cut out the egg. Easter Egg Art DisplayTeacher draws a huge basket on construction paper and places it in the hallway near the class. The teacher takes all of the students Easter egg’s and hides them around the school. He may choose to make this into a scavenger hunt, and the students must first figure out the clues on the map. As well, she may choose to give directions and the students must follow the directions, or she may have the students write their own directions back from the Easter egg to the classroom. There is an assortment of skills to be taught in finding their Easter egg. After the Easter egg is found the students will tape it on the wall with the Easter basket. A great bulletin board and the students have been very active participants in the lessons. Bulletin Board IdeasArt Series
